S.E. Cupp applauds SNL impression
S.E. Cupp on Monday called a “Saturday Night Live” spoof of her “flattering,” but also had a few tips to improve Kate McKinnon’s impression.
“Hard to complain. This could’ve been a lot worse. Completely surreal, completely surreal and weird and flattering and also really weird. It was great,” the conservative commentator said Monday on MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” which she co-hosts.
McKinnon played Cupp in a skit that spoofed MSNBC pundits’ critiquing the first presidential debate.
“I’m happy to just sit here and smile. I believe the term is gloating,” McKinnon said in the skit, lifting her arms in celebration.
“I appreciated her chair dance because I do that,” Cupp said. “I do chair dance.”
But her only advice?
“She has to lower her voice register a little bit,” Cupp said. “My voice is down there. That was the only noticeable tweak, but far be it for me to offer any criticism. I think it was Kate McKinnon who did it. She did a great job. Thank you.”
